Weaving a Viking Knit Chain

Chain is begun with craft wire. Here the number and distribution of stitches is set.	I'm using 24 gauge Argentium silver for this piece. The raw chain is woven around the Allen wrench.	The raw woven chain hangs off the Allen wrench as it gets longer.
Checking to make sure the six stitches are evenly distributed.	Here a new length of wire is joined by twisting the two ends together.	Getting longer! Note the stiffness of the raw chain before it is pulled through the drawplate.
My drawplate is a 3' piece of 1x2 hard maple.	Pulling the chain through the drawplate.	Flexible!!
